There are few things that can be so shamelessly schadenfreudelicious. Witnessing a woman on her way home in the unforgiving light of the morning commute is one of them. On the assumption, of course, that she’s had a fun night. A little bit of glittery, mascara smeared joy amongst the rush hour suits.
Harvey Nichols has a solution for those wishing to avoid the walk of shame this season and it’s not ‘stay in’.
Might Harvey Nichols suggest wearing a dress from their winter collection to escape any notion of shame? The ad finished on an elegantly dishevelled woman in a high necked Harvey Nic’s dress nonchalantly greeting a postman as she opens her front door. Problem: SOLVED. Considering my New Look dress is ‘still good’ I shan’t be doing that. Besides, I have a better idea.
I propose come the closing hour (say, 2am?) Harvey Nichols employees take to the streets, distributing sensible wellington boots and cosy coats to those trudging home in unsuitable disco-wear. Surely that solves any walk of shame issues whilst maintaining the high end store’s Christmas message of self-involvement?
