In no particular order-
Have you ever seen a comic on a website that made you chuckle to yourself and/or inwardly go ‘yes!’ Did that comic feature stick people, geeky jokes or possibly some sort of table? If the answer to any of the above is yes, and you thought the comic you saw was an amusing one-off, then you are in for a treat my friend. Next time you have a bit of time to spare run over to xkcd.com and feast your eyes on all the archives. Don’t forget to hold your mouse over the strip for the alt-text. As a bonus, you will now have access to a comic that will help you win just about any argument on facebook. Louise
2. Dinosaur Comics
The observant amongst you will notice that Ryan North has been using the same comic every freaking day since 2003 with different philosophical dialogue about sweet subjects like time travel and stuff, which is a favourite topic of mine. We can all learn life lessons from both this and T-Rex. Kate
3. Queen of Wands
There are some web comics I had to stop reading because I couldn’t keep up with them. You won’t have this problem with QoW, because it stopped running a few years ago. All of the archives are online, so you can read the entire story from start to finish. There aren’t enough comics about toy-obsessed short bisexual women so enjoy this one! Louise
4. Achewood
For all those witnessing Charlie Sheen’s…winning streak and thinking ‘what would happen were this to be played out in a webcomic about cats and other animals?’ wonder no more. Ray the cat did a deal with the devil and struck e-bay secret gold. Melancholy types will like Roast Beef, the middle cat. Even if you’re an otter and 5 and running for president there is a character for YOU. Kate
5. Hijinks Ensue
Inspired by Penny Arcade (which isn’t getting a category of its own because if you’re interested in webcomics and you haven’t read it I worry about your ability to use your computer). So were many other webcomics, but this is arguably the best, as it shares with PA the ability to make me laugh even when I don’t understand the reference, and has characters I’d like to hang out with. Also, I think Joel has a point about the Doctor Louise
