Friday 5...T-shirt Slogans

PictureIt says 'Read Squeamish Bikini'
It appears that celebrities are returning to the slogan t-shirt of old. Used to advertise shops and manufacturers before being co-opted by Vivienne Westwood and then Katherine Hamnett. Slogan t-shirts were championed by the seminal 80s band Wham! when they first hit number one and who can forget Britney's 'Dump Him' t-shirt? Interpreted as a message to Cameron Diaz but I like to think of as a little reminder to Britney herself for when she got home to Kevin. Now model Cara Delevingne has got in on the act with a t-shirt to support National Coming Out day and got us thinking about what slogan we might like across our (or a celebrity of our choice's) chests...

1. Mine would be: "Smear Today, Rock on Tomorrow" and Debbie Harry would wear it on stage to promote not putting of your smear test. Get it done today and you can be all rock n' roll like you usually are (just like Debbie) for all the tomorrows after that! (until three years have gone by and you're due for another one). Squeamish Nicola

2. Mine can be worn by climate change sceptics: "Eskimos for global warming". F1 Kate

3. I think I'd use mine to bring back Freaks and Geeks. It would say "Bring back Freaks and Geeks - Ask me how" and I would tell you that apart from the geeks, none of the cast has changed much and surely digital technology can fix any wrinkles or height issues. I just want one more series ok? To tie up some loose ends. Squeamish Kate

4. Can I go all old school hippy with something along the lines of "Build Homes not Bombs" or "Make Love not War" please? I'd like to see all the back bench MPs on both sides of the aisle stand up during PMQs and rip off their boring suits to reveal them. Squeamish Louise

5. My other one was: "What About Pepper?" Which would be a campaign for getting people to eat less salt!
Obviously I'd get Salt n Pepa to wear this cotton tee! Squeamish Nicola
