2. As a frequent flyer in cattle class, I have but one answer: TELEPORTERS. Not only would it mean the end of hours spent in airports and on planes, but nights out would become amazing. Let's meet in Florence for an aperitivo before heading to Tokyo for some sushi. After that, we're on the guest list at clubs in Shanghai, Rio, and New York, so let's see how we feel after dinner. The after party's in Samui. F1 Kate
3. The smartarse answer to this question would be the replicator from Star Trek as this can create anything else you could possibly want from a cheese & pickle sandwich right up to an intergalactic space ship (complete with holodeck and an android crew). Assuming that's out though I'd quite like Iron Man's armoured suit - preferably the Mark XVII. Not for fighting crime or anything noble like that, I'd just use it for popping to the shops in - far more fun that using the Tube or waiting for a bus. Gareth
4. There's a lot to pine over when you read Iain M Banks' Culture Novels. But as much as I would love to experience the Culture, the technology the Minds... Somehow it's always the denizens' ability to stimulate drugs inside their minds at will and with no ill-effects that I always envy the most. Squeamish Louise
5. There are so many things in Back to the Future I'd like to become a a mod con and use on a daily basis.
I like idea of a hover board but I know at the end of the day I wouldn't be able to control it. I don't have the balance. But I know my love of pizza and ability to eat it is forever. I'd like to be able to use the machine from the film that takes a tiny foil wrapped pizza zaps it in 30 seconds and turns it into a piping hot large one. That's the gadget for me! Squeamish Nicola
