2. The toy I wanted most as a kid sadly wasn't released until earlier this year. I'm talking, of course, about Benny's Spaceship Spaceship SPACESHIP! from the Lego Movie. A complete love letter to the 1978 Lego Space range, right down to the broken helmet on Benny (seriously those things broke if you so much as looked at them), and made entirely from bricks from that line (minus the custom movie minifigs obviously) it is my childhood repackaged and available to buy for the (bloody expensive) price of £69.99. Alternatively I could demand my mum returns the massive box of Lego she's still got stashed away and build it myself. She foolishly thinks that's been gifted to my niece and nephews, but she could not be more wrong. Gareth
3. I was trying to remember my favourite toys as a kid and realised how much of a nerd I was. I enjoyed the My Little Pony and the dolls, but the ones I really liked weren't toys so much as educational or hobby equipment. I had a rock polisher, which was amazing. I might have to buy myself one now, because who doesn't need jars full of shiny pebbles? And a flower press so that I could go out for long walks and pick flowers and then fill scrapbooks with them. That's not to mention how much I loved my encyclopaedias and dictionaries... Squeamish Louise
4. My favourite toy was Barbie. Shared with my sister I had a whole box full of Barbies, a Princess Laura, three Kens (one Rock Star) twoSkippers, a Sindy and her boyfriend Mouldy HeadPaul (he might not actually have been Sindy endorsed so much as from the 50p shop but Sindy got what she was given, that certainly wasn't his given name). Barbie drove around in our shoes, ran shops and dealt with Princess Laura's terrible flatulence (I don't think we had the respect for royalty that Mattel anticipated). My favourite joke was this: Knock knock. Who's there? Barbie. Barbie who? BARBIEANDKEN! Squeamish Kate
