Yeti mystery afoot

I once earned 15 house points at my Studley primary school for describing (I am guessing it was an exercise in adjectives) a yeti. I had been reading about them in the Usbourne book of Mysteries & Marvels of Nature (page 92, it's very well thumbed) and was rapt. My hopes of crossing paths with a yeti in the wilds of the west midlands were distant but it now seems should I fly to Russia I definitely maybe might be in with a chance. And just in time for Kate Bush's new Yeti themed single!

A team of scientists are now 95% certain that yetis are live and traipsing about the snowy climes of Russia. Sightings are on the increase near a town 2000 miles east of Moscow, called Tashtagol. Scientists and yeti enthusiasts have flocked to the town to compare notes and discuss findings of an expedition.

The Kemerovo government released a statement saying, "Conference participants came to the conclusion that the artefacts found give 95% evidence of the habitation of the 'snow man' on Kemerovo region territory." The evidence consists of some hairs believed to be from a yeti, footprints, and a “presumed bed”.

The yeti myth also exists in the Himalayas and North America, but it seems the Kemerovo government are eager to establish the area as the centre for Yeti sightings and research.

Listen to the idea of yetis being dismissed here

Kate. Who was in Yellow House.

People determined to turn their area into a tourist mecca for Yeti are 95% certain they can be found nearby? I see nothing here to make me cynical.

Also, house points?

I hadn't realised you go to Hogswarts.

(feel free to replace this with a school from an Enid Blyton book if you'd prefer).

I have no idea what 95% evidence is, I just know I am convinced by it.

It is the only school I went to that had house points...but it was also my favourite school so I am all for house points.

My school had houses (and house points) as well! Perhaps the Squeamish team has been transported in time from the '60s...
