I was on the train from London Bridge heading to East Croydon and even though public transport is a popular mode of getting around in London the train company chose only put four carriages on this particular service. Is this the patriarchy's fault? Oh I'm sure I can find a way to pin it on patriarchy, but let's say for now that it's not patriachy's fault but privatisation and you can make the links from there. Each carriage was filled to beyond capacity and, as it was Friday night, each carriage had a designated loud drunk person.
Our carriage's loud drunk person was Scottish and, I think, only marginally pissed but douchey 24/7. He spoke loudly about how all the fat girls should get off the train to make more room, discussed Scottish independence which he wants, although he won't be voting and explained his philosophy that once you have pulled a burning 15 year old from a car as he has (allegedly) done you realise how small and insignificant you are. Not small enough to all fit on the carriage of course. And he was not insignificant enough to put his arm down to make more room, even though we were so squished in that the need to hold on to a pole was minuscule.
He then said how horny he was before pressed himself against me saying I could push all I wanted, he wasn't moving. I pointed out everyone was pushing against each other and not to touch me when he began swearing at me. Another man told him not to swear. Not to swear. Not: 'do not press yourself up against someone'. Don't swear. That crosses the line. Quid in the swear jar sir. My lady ears are precious.

When I tell you I was unnerved at midnight on the Croydon platform plenty of people will think "phh, get it together". | It's one of those situations where every body likes to weigh in with what they would have done. |

On the red carpet at Cannes Ferrera was posing on the red carpet when a Ukrainian prankster and general rascal tried to crawl under her skirt. For a joke. I KNOW IT'S TOTALLY ALMOST AS FUNNY WAS WHEN DANIEL TOSH HOPED THAT GIRL GOT GANG RAPED!
Since putting his head up Ferrera's dress Vitalii Sediuk has been described as a pest or prankster. He's known for pulling such wheezes as putting his face in Leonardo DiCaprio's crotch and trying to kiss Will Smith on the lips. Ew, GAY. The aim is clearly to cause discomfort and embarrassment and it's a crude way to get a laugh, though the only person laughing is Vitalii Sediuk from what I can see.
Images of the incident show Ferrera looking angry and upset, though E! Online says Ferrera discussed the incident with them "saying with a laugh..." as though she breezed over the subject. But then, she had to. It's one of those situations where everybody likes to weigh in with what they would have done. They would have slapped that guy, they would have had a witty one liner to bring him down to size, they would have stomped on his head while it was under their skirt.
HA HA HA! The current etiquette when flashed or your personal space is invaded is to laugh it off. And I don't understand why. Unless of course you weren't humiliated or distressed there's no reason for you to make life easier for everyone else by reducing the situation down to an amusing anecdote. The prankster. The upskirt. It all excuses the instigator and ridicules the victim who is required to then send themselves up when reporting the incident. It's another case of victims not wanting to cause a fuss and the rest of us not wanting to listen.
